Tree of Life Personal Care Home is looking to add a full time Housekeeping position to their staff.  This position in full time, Monday-Friday, but in the future will go to every other weekend rotation

Position Summary


Housekeeping is responsible for taking care of the Tree of Life building’s general cleanliness and providing tidy and sanitary amenities for our residents in a courteous and friendly manner.

Essential Functions
 
  • Provide basic housekeeping duties including cleaning common areas, assigned resident rooms changing the linens, laundry for the residents and house linens, vacuuming, dusting and collecting and removing trash and debris.
  • Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Always maintain a safe environment e.g. wet floor signs, safe storage.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with employees, visitors and residents
  • Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Help maintain a pleasant and cheerful, home-like environment for our residents.
  • May be asked to assist with dishes and clean up after meals if the team is short staffed.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
  • Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Always introduces self to residents, families and visitors.
  • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Always maintain resident confidentiality.

Educational and Other Requirements
 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent and some experience in the health care field preferred.
  2. Ability to effectively communicate with confidence, clarity, precision and professionalism.
  3. General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
  4. Strong organization and time management skills.
  5. Food handling regulations, ServeSafe certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions, the associate is sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, talking, hearing using repetitive motion and use of manual dexterity most of the time while frequently, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
 
The associate may be exposed to extreme cold, heat or temperature changes and possible atmospheric conditions and moderate noise. The associate must have the ability to exert force with little physical effort and for light and frequently medium work.

  • OAPSA required FBI Fingerprints, National Sex Offender Registry, PA State Criminal History, PA Child Abuse and Physical assessment are required prior to hire and required every five years. Physical assessments will be required every two years.
  • A valid PA Driver’s License with acceptable driving history is required.
